The Bishop Moore Hornets will square off against the Pine Ridge Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Pine Ridge will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Bishop Moore extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Hornets blew past Cypress Creek 12-6.
Emmett Whalen tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bishop Moore got a massive performance out of Nate Davis, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Davis has posted since back in March. Brayden Schuster was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Bishop Moore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cypress Creek only posted a batting average of .231.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Pine Ridge rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory.
Cameron Schweit was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Schweit was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Daryl Badger was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Sam Figueroa, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.
Pine Ridge's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Bishop Moore, their victory bumped their record up to 22-2.
Bishop Moore was able to grind out a solid win over Pine Ridge in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 6-1. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
