Baseball Recap: St. Xavier's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Six

St. Xavier proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Madison Central Indians 5-4. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on six straight.

The team relied heavily on Wyatt Graven, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eli Winsted, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

St. Xavier pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Madison Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Xavier will head out to square off against Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Madison Central, they will face off against Lexington Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
