Baseball Game Preview: Harding Skippers vs. Badger Braves

The Harding Skippers will head out on the road to square off against the Badger Braves at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Harding has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Harding blew Windham out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Windham got their revenge. The Skippers fell just short of the Bombers by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Skippers have suffered since April 9th.

Elijah Harless spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Harding saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Slavkovsky, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Badger didn't have quite enough to beat Cardinal on Thursday and fell 5-3. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tyler McWilliams made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. James Walker also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Badger's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Harding, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Harding has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Badger struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
