Baseball Recap: Olympic Heights Comes Up Short

Olympic Heights came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Deerfield Beach Bucks, falling 11-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bucks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.

Nathan Walters was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mason Edwards, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Olympic Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Deerfield Beach, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-9 record.

Olympic Heights and Deerfield Beach could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Lions (ranked 514th) will meet West Boca Raton (ranked 227th) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Deerfield Beach will challenge Cardinal Gibbons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (309 vs. 139).
