Recap: Northview Knights vs. Cascade Cadets
The Northview Knights came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cascade and snuck past 50-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Northview has posted since November 14, 2023.
Brynlee Clarke continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Carlee Schrader, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Cascade's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylee Austin, who scored seven points. Lilly Hall was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Northview pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Cascade, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
Northview will look to defend their home court on Friday against South Putnam at 6:00 p.m. South Putnam will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Northview is ranked 104th). As for Cascade, they will head out on the road to square off against Cloverdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cloverdale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
