Baseball Recap: Warrensburg Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Warrensburg dropped their record down to 13-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They fell 6-2 to the Salem Generals. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Burgers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Kawliga Duell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Paul Moore made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Salem, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games.

On Salem's side, the team relied heavily on Chase Baylor, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Warrensburg will square off against rival Fort Ann at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Salem is set to challenge their familiar foe Granville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Generals 3.6, the Golden Horde 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
