Softball Game Preview: Navarro Panthers vs. Canyon Lake

The Navarro Panthers will venture away from home to face off against Canyon Lake at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Navarro has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Navarro is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Davenport on Friday. They came up short against the Wolves, falling 22-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Canyon Lake lost 9-3 to Wimberley on Friday.

Cheyenne Fields made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.

Canyon Lake's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Navarro, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9-1.

Navarro took their victory against Canyon Lake in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0. Does Navarro have another victory up their sleeve, or will Canyon Lake turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
