Basketball Game Preview: Bangor Rams vs. Hampden Broncos

Bangor and Hampden are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Bangor Rams will head out to challenge the Hampden Broncos at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bangor has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 6.

Bangor came up into this matchup off a tough 30-point defeat on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Portland by a score of 49-46 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Hampden's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Messalonskee. The match marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Bangor's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hampden, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.

Bangor suffered a grim 66-44 defeat to Hampden in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Bangor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
