Football Game Preview: Southside Panthers vs. Cottage Hill Christian Academy Warriors + Official Tickets

Two dominant signal callers in Kole Moody and Shamar Toodle are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Southside Panthers will face off against the Cottage Hill Christian Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Southside is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Dadeville as they made off with a 35-12 victory. The win was just business as usual for the Panthers, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.

It was another big night for Cedrick Simmons, who picked up 183 receiving yards and one score. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception. ArMari Towns made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Southside didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Simmons and Towns. Towns got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Cottage Hill Christian Academy took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 41-8 victory over Wicksburg.

Cottage Hill Christian Academy's win came from a few key players Southside will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caleb Metzner, who picked up 68 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 64 yards. Travis Smith was another key player, picking up 96 receiving yards and one TD.

Cottage Hill Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 329 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Southside's record now sits at 11-0. As for Cottage Hill Christian Academy, their record is now 10-1.

The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Southside has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 331.9 passing yards per game.
