Baseball Recap: Kerman Find Success

Kerman won the last time they faced Immanuel and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lions walked away with a 5-1 win over the Eagles. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Kerman got a great performance from Evan Esqueda as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. Esqueda has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Adrian Torres was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Kerman's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 3-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Lanfranco, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Kerman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.

The victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 7-11. As for Immanuel, they dropped their record down to 11-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Kerman will face off against Central Valley Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Immanuel, they will take on Hart at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
