Keswick Christian took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They breezed past the American Youth Academy Eagles to the tune of 69-22. With the Crusaders ahead 35-13 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Leading Keswick Christian to victory were Grant Cook and Zach Bingham. Cook went 10-for-14 on his way to 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Bingham shot 50% from the field en route to 18 points in addition to seven assists and five steals. Cook is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Ian Richardson was another key player, putting up nine points along with five boards and three steals.
Despite the defeat, American Youth Academy had strong showings from Adam Ibrahim, who posted ten points, and Mehdi Faouatih, who earned eight points.
American Youth Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-2.
Looking ahead, Keswick Christian will head out to face off against Winthrop College Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for American Youth Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Candlelight Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on December 2.
