Volleyball Recap: Mountain Vista Falls Short Against Ranked Loveland + How To Watch

Mountain Vista faced Loveland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Red Wolves by a score of 3-2. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Mountain Vista was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Loveland work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 27-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-11.

When it comes to explaining why Mountain Vista lost, don't look at Anna Morella. Despite the final result, she had 36 digs. Morella has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Schmidt, who had ten digs and three aces.

Mountain Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Loveland, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Mountain Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Loveland, they will face off against Pine Creek at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
