Basketball Recap: High Island Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Leggett came into Thursday's match looking for another win against High Island, but Cam'Ron Medina wouldn't allow it. The High Island Cardinals were the clear victor by a 60-40 margin over the Leggett Pirates on Thursday thanks in part to Medina, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of High Island's points.

Kwmae Medina was another key player, putting up six points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

High Island's win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-18. As for Leggett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-16.

High Island and Brookeland will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Brookeland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully High Island likes a good challenge.
