Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only West walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 47-20 victory over the Taft Wildcats. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

West's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Solomon Harris, who rushed for 167 yards and four TDs on only 15 carries, and also threw for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Harris' passing game has become a key predictor of the Vikings' success: the team is 6-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Jamarr Price also helped with three scores in total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: West was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 337 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 155 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

When it comes to explaining why Taft lost, don't look at Joe Weber. Despite the final result, he rushed for 94 yards and one TD on only 12 carries, and also caught one touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 75 yards.

West's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Taft, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 43-22 loss against Chowchilla on the 14th. Taft does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
