Basketball Recap: Fowler Piles Up the Points Against Granite Hills

Fowler lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Granite Hills, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Redcats blew past the Grizzlies 68-17 on Thursday. The Redcats pushed the score to 62-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Grizzlies had no chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fowler to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reena Bhinder, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 20 points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Danika Serrano, who went 6-for-10 en route to 13 points and seven steals.

Fowler has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 56 points this season. As for Granite Hills, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Fowler and Orange Cove will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Granite Hills, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-9 defeat against Delano on the 24th.
