Basketball Recap: New Knoxville Comes Up Short

New Knoxville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 33-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Loramie Redskins. The Rangers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redskins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Loramie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Gasson, who posted seven points. Spencer Knouff was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

New Knoxville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Fort Loramie, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

New Knoxville and Fort Loramie could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. New Knoxville (ranked 626th) will meet Minster (ranked 164th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Fort Loramie will square off against Jackson Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 242 places (423 vs. 181).
