Volleyball Recap: Porter-Gaud Comes Up Short

Porter-Gaud and Cardinal Newman squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Porter-Gaud had to settle for second. They fell 2-0 to the Cardinals. The defeat continues a trend for the Cyclones in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost seven in a row.

Among those leading the charge was Emerson Ramsdale, who had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last five contests.

Porter-Gaud's loss dropped their record down to 22-20. As for Cardinal Newman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 44-9 record this season.

Porter-Gaud does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cardinal Newman, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Palmetto Christian Academy on the 28th.
