Basketball Recap: Cocoa Beach's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for Cocoa Beach, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 32-22 victory over the Calvary Chapel Academy Eagles on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Minutemen as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Cocoa Beach got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Baylea Holland out in front who posted eight points and six boards. Holland is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aariyah Robinson, who had eight points and six steals.

Cocoa Beach's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Cocoa Beach didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-30 defeat against Titusville on the 20th. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Master's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
