Softball Recap: Pittsford Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Pittsford and Batavia, and Pittsford kept the tradition alive. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Blue Devils on Wednesday. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly two runs.

Pittsford's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.5 runs across that stretch. As for Batavia, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-10 record.

Pittsford has already played their next contest, a 9-7 victory against Honeoye Falls-Lima on the 14th. Hopefully Batavia paid attention to the Panthers' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
