Volleyball Game Preview: Rantoul Eagles vs. Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs

Rantoul is 0-5 against Mahomet-Seymour since September of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Eagles will take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rantoul is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They won by a set and slipped past Danville 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Mahomet-Seymour was able to grind out a solid victory over Urbana on Wednesday, taking the game 2-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Mahomet-Seymour took both sets by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-13.

Rantoul's win bumped their record up to 16-17. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their victory bumped their record up to 31-4.

Rantoul couldn't quite get it done against Mahomet-Seymour in their previous matchup back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
