Softball Recap: Red Bank Regional Comes Up Short

Red Bank Regional extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 7-9 in the process. They came up short against the Red Bank Catholic Caseys, falling 14-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bucs of the 14-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

As for Red Bank Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3. Considering they have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Red Bank Catholic's part, Sophia Lasater and Jayden Kane did most of the damage at the plate: Lasater fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3, while Kane went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two home runs gave Lasater a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lana Rudolph, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Red Bank Regional will take on Keyport at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Red Bank Catholic, they will host Allentown at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
