Basketball Game Preview: New Albany Bulldogs vs. West Union Eagles

The New Albany Bulldogs will take on the West Union Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Union took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on New Albany, who comes in off a win.

While New Albany didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took down Alcorn Central 50-31 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Lynleigh Tatum was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 11 steals. New Albany is undefeated when Tatum posts three or more steals, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Madilyn Gafford, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, West Union was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 48-44 to Lewisburg. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

New Albany's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for West Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

New Albany strolled past West Union in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 48-29. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
