Basketball Recap: Collierville Skates Past Columbus with Ease

Collierville strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 69-38 victory over the Columbus Falcons. Fans of the Dragons have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Collierville had a senior duo take command as Fran Kelly shot 50% from the field on her way to 18 points along with six boards and four steals and Jekhyra Rodgers posted 12 points in addition to eight steals and six assists. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for Rodgers. Jaliyah Kelly was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Collierville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Collierville's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Columbus, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Collierville will take on Kell at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons will need to watch out since the Longhorns have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Columbus, they will square off against Northridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
