Recap: Bay Tigers vs. Greene County Wildcats
The Bay Tigers were the 44-36 winner over the Greene County Wildcats when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Bay lost to Greene County at home by a decisive 40-22 margin on Friday. Bay has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Greene County to victory were Jase Matthews and Yabarrai Bolton. Matthews scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Bolton scored 15 points along with five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bolton has scored at least 25% of Greene County's points.
Bay has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which is still a better percentage than their 4-15 record this season. As for Greene County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Bay will head out on the road to face off against St. Stanislaus at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Stanislaus presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bay in Mississippi (St. Stanislaus is ranked 105th, while Bay is ranked 248th). As for Greene County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Poplarville at 7:30 p.m. Poplarville comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
