Wiggins has been on the road for six straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Highland Huskies at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Wiggins will be strutting in after a win while Highland will be coming in after a loss.
Wiggins was handed a six-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Haxtun on Saturday. Wiggins came out on top in a nail-biter against Haxtun and snuck past 7-5. The victory was just what Wiggins needed coming off of a 7-1 loss in their prior game.
Marcus Stienbar made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Stienbar was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, Larry Garcia was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Carston Johnson was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Highland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They suffered a tough 13-1 loss at the hands of University.
