Baseball Recap: Clarke County Comes Up Short

Clarke County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 8-4 to the Page County Panthers. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 12-2.

Clarke County's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Page County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Clarke County will host Madison County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Page County, they will take on Luray at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
