Basketball Game Preview: Warren Central Warriors vs. Ben Davis Giants

Warren Central is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Saturday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ben Davis Giants at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Saturday, Warren Central earned a 60-47 win over Purdue Polytechnic.

Denaijah Jacobs and Denell Jacobs were among the main playmakers for Warren Central as the former shot 55% from the field en route to 16 points in addition to eight steals and five rebounds and the latter went 5-for-11 on her way to 17 points along with six boards and four steals. With that strong performance, Denell is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Acelynn Durham, who posted six points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ben Davis). They walked away with a 62-50 victory over Plainfield on Tuesday.

Ben Davis' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Warren Central, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Warren Central beat Ben Davis 45-32 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Giants have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
