Fallbrook hasn't had much luck against Poway recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Titans at 4:00 p.m. Fallbrook has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Fallbrook lost 17-1 to Westview on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly 16 runs.
Fallbrook saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Clapp, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Poway ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They blew past Ramona 24-0. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Poway also got a great performance from Davis Rodriguez as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Rodriguez has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Poway let Parker Smith and Miles Wisdom run wild. Smith went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs, while Wisdom got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and six RBI. Those five runs gave Wisdom a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Roy, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
The win (which was Poway's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Fallbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14-1.
Fallbrook came up short against Poway in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 6-2. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
