Baseball Recap: DuVal Tigers vs. Northwestern Wildcats
DuVal extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-4. They came up short against the Northwestern Wildcats, falling 14-4. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Jeremias Velez was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Galeano Carino was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Northwestern got a massive performance out of Engelbert Tovar, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Tovar has posted since back in April of 2025. Kyle Boozer-Strother was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
DuVal didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-2 defeat against Eleanor Roosevelt on the 18th. As for Northwestern, they will face off against Gwynn Park at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Yellowjackets have now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
