Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southbridge). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 victory over University Park on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pioneers as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Southbridge's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for University Park, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southbridge will challenge Prouty at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Prouty will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Southbridge surely won't give up without a fight. As for University Park, they will head out on the road to challenge Narragansett Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. University Park is facing Narragansett Regional at the right time seeing as Narragansett Regional is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
