League recap: Brooks overpowering for Auburn Mountainview in past week

3A SPSL league recap: 5/30/13

3A SPSL's top pitcher this week was Auburn Mountainview's Nick Brooks. He won one game and struck out eight batters.

The Lions had a successful week, as they won two total games to lead the league. Auburn Mountainview beat Kennewick 6-4 and West Seattle 7-1.

The Lions' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 13 hits and six walks to lead the league in both categories.

Five batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Shane Hanon, who hit 1.000 this week (1-for-1).

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Brooks, who turned in eight Ks for Auburn Mountainview. He's first in the league with 99 total strikeouts.



The Lions' Brooks struck out eight the Lions hitters en route to a 6-4 victory on May 24. Over seven innings of work, he gave up seven hits and four runs.
