Volleyball Game Preview: Upper Merion Area Vikings vs. Boyertown Bears

The Upper Merion Area Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Boyertown Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Upper Merion Area is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Upper Merion Area proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Perkiomen Valley 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Upper Merion Area has posted since September 2nd.

Upper Merion Area was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (105-99), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-23, 15-25, 19-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Boyertown came up short against North Penn on Wednesday and fell 3-1. While the Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 25-10 in the first set.

Boyertown started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 10-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-19.

Boyertown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Upper Merion Area, their win bumped their record up to 11-8-1.

Upper Merion Area might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Boyertown in their previous meeting on September 9th. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
