Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Hancock Royals vs. Triton Central Tigers

The Eastern Hancock Royals will head out to take on the Triton Central Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Eastern Hancock is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Rushville: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Royals blew the Lions out of the water with a 55-26 final score. The Royals pushed the score to 40-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had little chance of recovering from.

McKenzie Koch went supernova, dropping a double-double with 25 points and ten rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 17 or more in each of the last 27 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Sotelo, who posted 11 points and seven steals.

Eastern Hancock was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rushville only posted six.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Triton Central took on Greenwood Christian Academy on Thursday. The Tigers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cougars 73-35.

Eastern Hancock pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 23.7 points thus far. As for Triton Central, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Eastern Hancock was able to grind out a solid win over Triton Central in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, winning 60-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
