Baseball Recap: Cornerstone Charter Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Cornerstone Charter has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.5 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Glenn Bobcats. The loss was the Cardinals' first of the season.

Brooks Adamczak was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Finley Harker was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Cornerstone Charter's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Glenn, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Cornerstone Charter will challenge Gilman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Glenn, they will square off against Surry Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
