Football Game Preview: JSerra Catholic Lions vs. Servite Friars + How To Watch

The JSerra Catholic Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Servite Friars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. JSerra Catholic has given up an average of 35.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

JSerra Catholic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: St. John Bosco, who was ranked first at the time (JSerra Catholic was ranked 20th). The Lions were beaten by the Braves 70-21 on Friday. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-14.

Despite the loss, JSerra Catholic had strong showings from Clark Cokley, who picked up 113 receiving yards and one touchdown, and Koa Smith-Mayall, who rushed for 43 yards and one score. Cokley really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 76 yards.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Servite and Santa Margarita had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Friars took a 17-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 49 points in the game before, the Friars couldn't push the score so high this time.

JSerra Catholic will have to contain Kale Murphy as he made an impact in Servite's last game. He rushed for 44 yards and one TD.

Servite moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for JSerra Catholic, their record now sits at 3-3.

JSerra Catholic couldn't quite get it done against Servite in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 20-7. Thankfully for the Lions, Quaid Carr (who rushed for 184 yards and one score while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also caught one touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
