Football Recap: Hardaway Comes Up Short

Hardaway extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-7. They were outmatched by the Columbus Blue Devils and fell 38-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hawks have suffered against the Blue Devils since October 30, 2015.

Cameron Alexander threw for 31 yards. On the ground, Da'Kobie Henry rushed for 117 yards.

As for Columbus, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 32.7 points this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Rayshaun Glover and Grant Geringer. Glover gained 99 total yards and two touchdowns while Geringer rushed for 90 yards on only nine carries. Those 90 rushing yards gave Geringer a new career-high.

Hardaway has already played their next game, a 48-7 win against Jordan on the 16th. As for Columbus, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-7 victory against Kendrick on the 17th.
