Holy Cross and Mercy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Holy Cross had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Brianne Stoff paced Holy Cross' offense, picking up 17 kills. Stoff got some help from Leah Evans and her 37 assists. Finally, Delaney Stoff kept Holy Cross' defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Holy Cross' loss dropped their record down to 27-11. As for Mercy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 26-11.

Holy Cross does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mercy, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Assumption on the 3rd.
