Basketball Recap: Panther Valley Comes Up Short at Home Against Marian Catholic + How To Watch

Panther Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 49-35 bruising from Marian Catholic on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Panther Valley lost, don't look at Jarell Thomas. Despite the final result, he posted seven points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Wehr, who put up six points and six rebounds.

Marian Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gregory Tirpak, who earned ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacob De La Cruz, who scored 11 points.

Coincidentally, Panther Valley and Marian Catholic will both be playing Weatherly the next time they take the court. The Panthers will head out to face Weatherly at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Marian Catholic will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
