Basketball Recap: Egyptian Comes Up Short

Egyptian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against the Hickman County Falcons, falling 88-29. While losing is never fun, the Pharaohs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 725th in Illinois, while the Falcons are ranked 228th in Kentucky).

When it comes to explaining why Egyptian lost, don't look at Damarion Clark. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-16 to rack up 22 points. Clark continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Egyptian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Hickman County, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Egyptian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 83-35 loss against Fulton City on the 3rd. As for Hickman County, they are taking a road trip to challenge South Fulton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
