Basketball Recap: Nathan Heiliger's Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Wake over Cary Christian

After flying high against South Guilford HomeSchool last Thursday, South Wake came back down to earth. The South Wake Sabres received a blow on Monday as they fell 67-49 to the Cary Christian Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sabres of the 51-39 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Several Sabres players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nathan Heiliger, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Webb, who earned seven points.

South Wake's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Cary Christian, they moved to 8-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

South Wake will head out to take on Chatham HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cary Christian, they will take on St. David's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
