Football Game Preview: Goliad Tigers vs. Aransas Pass Panthers

The Goliad Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Aransas Pass Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Goliad is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Edna just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 37-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cowboys.

Meanwhile, Aransas Pass played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 55-26 loss at the hands of Orange Grove. The Panthers have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Aransas Pass' defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Goliad, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Goliad against Aransas Pass when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-1 victory. In that contest, the Tigers amassed a halftime lead of 34-1, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
