The Boardman Spartans will head out on the road to take on the West Branch Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Boardman will be strutting in after a win while West Branch will be coming in after a defeat.
On Thursday, Boardman made easy work of Harding and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.
Boardman's got stronger as the match went on, holding Harding to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-4.

Boardman can attribute much of their success to Emma Terlesky, who had 18 assists and three aces, and Sadie Satterfield, who had 11 digs and two assists. Those three aces gave Terlesky a new career-high. Addie Rudge also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
They weren't the only good servers: Boardman was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harding only served three.
Meanwhile, West Branch lost 3-0 to Canfield on Saturday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
While West Branch was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23, 25-14.
West Branch's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Boardman, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's contest: Boardman has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.1 aces per game. However, it's not like West Branch struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Boardman was able to grind out a solid victory over West Branch in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
