Football Game Preview: Gross Catholic Cougars vs. Brownell Talbot Raiders

Two dominant backs in Robbie Brennan and Owen Ohnoutka are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Gross Catholic Cougars will challenge the Brownell Talbot Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gross Catholic will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Roncalli Catholic, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Cougars took down the Crimson Pride 27-8 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Brownell Talbot ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Louisville with a 20-14 victory. The win almost wasn't to be: the Raiders were down 14-0 in the second quarter.

The victory got Brownell Talbot back to even at 3-3. As for Gross Catholic, their record is now 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Gross Catholic against Brownell Talbot in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 38-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
