First Christian put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Northside Christian Academy an 8-0 shutout. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Northside Christian Academy, too.

Brayden Pedersen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 17 over six innings pitched. Pedersen was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base. Pedersen is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Morgan Earnhart was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Mason Williams, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

First Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Northside Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. First Christian is set to take on their familiar foe Corinth Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Northside Christian Academy will face off against rival Hope Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
