Basketball Game Preview: Ware Shoals Hornets vs. Ninety Six Wildcats

Ware Shoals is 2-7 against Ninety Six since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Ware Shoals took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind 59-8.

Ware Shoals got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyrell Cunningham out in front who posted 12 points and five boards. That's the most points Cunningham has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Charles Callaham, who had 12 points.

Meanwhile, Ninety Six was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 63-58 to Mid-Carolina. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ninety Six fell to 2-1. As for Ware Shoals, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Ware Shoals was dealt a bruising 75-36 defeat at the hands of Ninety Six when the teams last played on Tuesday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Wildcats' Kobi Quarles, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 assists.
