Football Recap: Boyd County Comes Up Short

If Boyd County was riding high fresh off their 49-7 takedown of Greenup County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions were dealt a 48-7 defeat at the hands of the Blazer Tomcats on Friday. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Boyd County's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Blazer, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Boyd County will take on Rowan County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Blazer, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Johnson Central at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th.
