Softball Recap: Sanger's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Sanger put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over the Lemoore Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-1 last Wednesday.

Amber Estrada made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brea Poindexter, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Samantha Guerra, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Sanger always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lemoore only posted an OBP of .318.

Sanger's record now sits at 3-0. As for Lemoore, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Sanger will square off against Selma at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lemoore, they will be taking part in a tournament against Coalinga at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
