Basketball Recap: First Baptist Skates Past Cambridge Christian with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask First Baptist). They breezed past Cambridge Christian to the tune of 77-31 on Thursday. The Crusaders have beaten Cambridge Christian the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Cambridge Christian has come to flipping the script.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead First Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Lindsay, who went 9-for-12 to rack up 21 points and six assists. With that strong performance, Lindsay is now averaging an impressive 16.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Torgee Ketterling, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.

First Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

First Baptist's win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coincidentally, First Baptist and Cambridge Christian will both be playing Prior Lake Christian the next time they take the court. Cambridge Christian will host the Royals at 6:45 p.m. on January 13, 2026, while the Crusaders will host them at 6:45 p.m. on January 30, 2026.
