Basketball Recap: Bosque Starts Season with Victory Against Estancia

Bosque had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They claimed a resounding 72-24 victory over the Estancia Bears. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-19.

Josiah Wilson had a dynamite game, going 8-for-11 on his way to 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds. What's more, he also posted a 73% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Luca Kalishman, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 12 points and four steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Bosque was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Estancia only posted one.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Juan Cuevas, who posted five points.

Looking ahead, Bosque will venture away from home to face off against Espanola Valley at 6:30 p.m. on December 4. As for Estancia, they will welcome Mountainair at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
