Edgerton posted their closest win since April 5, 2024 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ayersville Pilots, sneaking past 4-3. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pilots, too.

Cory Herman was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Kellen Sanchez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Edgerton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Ayersville, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Coming up, Edgerton will be playing in front of their home fans against Evergreen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Ayersville, they will take on Hilltop at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pilots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cadets have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
